Isaiah (Program #6) – The Salvation of Jehovah to His Beloved People and the Nations (5)

A classic and well-known passage in Isaiah chapter 7 declares “therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign behold the virgin will conceive and will bear a son and she will call his name Emmanuel”  This verse written more than 700 years before the coming of Christ, clearly and specifically foretell His coming.  God with us is the literal Emmanuel, Christ our Redeemer, Savior and life-giver.  But the prophecy in Isaiah 7 and 8 deals also with the land of Emmanuel, the nation of Israel.  People of God today are still watching and waiting as this prophecy unfolds.  The outcome of this prophecy has much to do with us as well.  If you appreciate the word of God and prophecy you will want to stay with us for today’s life study of the Bible.

Revelation (Program #67) – The Conclusion

In the last chapter of Revelation, the apostle John reports the Lord’s final words to him and to us.  Chapter 22 verse 6 to 7 says, “And he said to me, These words are faithful and true; the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show to His slaves the things which must quickly take place. And behold, I come quickly.  Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this scroll.”

Twice more in this chapter, the Lord repeats the warning that He is coming quickly. Like John, we all need to be those who heed these words and this warning…

Revelation (Program #64) – The New Jerusalem (6)

The final two chapters of the Bible reveal the final destination for both God and man. Not heavenly mansions, but the living, built up city composed of God and His redeemed people. Rev 21:22 says “And I saw no temple in it, for its temple is the Lord God, the Almighty and the Lamb.”  This city of course is the New Jerusalem, the focus and subject of the final pages of the Bible. “The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.  Hear, O heavens, and hearken, O earth, For Jehovah has spoken: I have brought up children, and I have raised them; And yet they have rebelled against Me.”   These are the words of the Old Testament prophet Isaiah as he began his book of prophecy.  God’s people have rebelled and their righteous and loving Father after confronting them with His complains begins the work of chastisement and drawing the stubborn people back to Himself.  How does God deal with His own when they strayed?  What can we see from this ancient account that is meaningful for us today as we live the Christian life?
