Hebrews (Program #52) – Do Not Fall Away from Grace

No. Do not fall away from Grace. That is, don’t fall away from the enjoying of Christ in the New Covenant way. But rather, take grace, stand in grace, run the race, enjoying Christ every day.

Hebrews chapter 11 is a famous chapter in the Bible focusing on faith. It reveals marvelously that faith is the free gift of God, and further that it makes God real to us. But, there is a goal to the giving of this gift, and the goal is presented in chapter 12. The goal of faith is our topic today on the life study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #51) – Discipline for Holiness

In today’s life study, we look at the Christian walk: A walk of holiness, righteousness, and peace as we enter into the Holy of Holies in our everyday Christian life.

The tabernacle of the old testament is a marvelous picture of our experience of Christ, and is a favorite theme in the book of Hebrews. At the center of the tabernacle is the Holy of Holies. Holy, because God’s very presence is there. But, we can also be there as we will see in today’s life study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #50) – Run the Race

You know it’s very important that we, believers in Christ, realize that we’re not just forgiven sinners that are waiting to go to heaven. There is a race for us to run, and there is a goal for us to reach.

At least four different times, the apostle Paul likened the Christian life to a race that we need to run. As we walk in spirit, we are also running this race with a great cloud of heavenly onlookers urging us to the finish line, with the promise of great reward to those who finish. We will look at the universal race on today’s life study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #49) – The Author and Perfecter of Faith

What is faith? Where does it come from? And how is it possible that God demands that we have it if we’re going to be saved and live the Christian life? Faith as a gift from God is one of the topics that we’ll look at today on the life study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #48) – The History of Faith and Its Witnesses

In sports, there is a universal factor called the “home court advantage”. The competitors gain a distinct advantage by the cheering and encouragement of an arena full of fans. Have you ever realized that such is the case in our own running the race of the Christian life?

Hebrews (Program #47) – The Unique Way of Faith and Faith’s Definition

The bible says faith is the substance for the substantiating of the unseen things.  Faith is what makes God real to us, the way our eyes make light real to us.

Today we will spend most of our time looking at the unique way of faith and the Bible’s definition of faith.  And as a preface, we need to see that Hebrews opens the matter of faith to us only after the presentation of some serious warnings to Christians, to believers.  What is the general point of these warnings?

Hebrews (Program #46) – The Kingdom Reward and the Gaining of the Soul

Christians and non Christians alike are familiar with the term “eternal perdition”. And without doubt the bible does present such a matter. But there is another matter also presented in the Bible that precious few understand and that is the matter of dispensational punishment. Again today, we will contrast these two great truths from the book of Hebrews on the life study of the Bible.

Today we have part two of the message we began yesterday and it does deal in some detail with this matter – and that is the matter of dispensational punishment – and we’re contrasting that to eternal perdition. Today we’re going to see a development of this related to the gaining of the soul.

Hebrews (Program #45) – Not Eternal Perditon, but Dispensational Punishment

Is it possible for a Christian to lose their salvation? If not, what about the warnings and sober words presented in Hebrews and other books of the New Testament? We continue our focus today on eternal security and dispensational punishment on this life study of the Bible.

Today we bring a frontal assault on some of the old and comfortable notions that many hold that just don’t stand up to the full revelation of the Bible. Our message today is entitled “Not Eternal Perdition, but Dispensational Punishment”. What are some of these traditional and cherished concepts that are going to be challenged by our program today?

Hebrews (Program #44) – Come Forward to the Holy of Holies and Do Not Shrink Back to Judaism

The call to come forward is a striking element in the book of Hebrews. God’s desire for us is not just to come forward to receive Him for salvation, but we need to live a life of continually coming forward to God in Christ and through the spirit for our daily living. This is our focus today on the life study of the Bible.

The program today is going to begin with a brief review of some of the points that we’ve been covering in our recent broadcasts. Then we are going to launch into an examination of this marvelous phrase that appears at least four times in Hebrews. In the Recovery version, this phrase is translated as “come forward”. It’s really one Greek word but it takes the two words “come forward” to capture the essence of it – and it’s a call from God to His people.

Hebrews (Program #43) – Christ’s Sacrifices Replacing and Terminating Those of the Old Covenant

Today in chapter 10 of Hebrews we will see the good news that our sins and iniquities are completely taken away. And, we will see the better news that we can join in with God for the fulfillment of His desire on earth today.

Twice in the book of Hebrews we have God’s new covenant presented. In this new covenant we have Christ to offer to God for our sins; but not only so, we also have the promise of the divine life being imparted into our being. Once again we will enjoy this new covenant on today’s life study of the Bible.
