Exodus (Program #172) – The Making of the Tabernacle with Its Furniture and the Garments for the Priests

When the children of Israel were escaping Egypt, the Lord granted them favor and allowed them to take much gold, silver and other precious materials with them.  Later they used that gold to make an idol, offending God to the uttermost.  But after being reconciled to Him they were able to offer this gold once again.  This time for the building of God’s House.  This brought in God’s full blessing.  This is a wonderful lesson for us today.

1 Corinthians (Program #33) – Dealing with Marriage Life (1)

Have you ever noticed the way that 1 Corinthians chapter 7 began:

Now concerning the things of which you wrote:

Well this means that Paul is about to respond to a series of questions that the believers in Corinth had previously sent to him in a letter.  What questions? Well, according to the context of chapter 7 we can readily see that these cultured, highly educated, philosophical saints that were the church in Corinth had many questions about marriage.  The whole chapter in fact is devoted to marriage with Paul giving the Corinthians more than a dozen principles related to marriage. It’s likely that we all had had serious questions regarding marriage. Even the unmarried ones wonder about this critical human item. That on one hand is the source of so much trouble in the human life. While on the other hand can be the source of so much blessing.

Exodus (Program#59) – The Blessing Received by the Loving Seekers of God Through His Law as His Living Word (1)

The Bible is the most wonderful book of books.   God revealed that the words in it are the very breath and that He himself is embodied in it.  Yet to some, all they see are the controversies and seeming inconsistencies.  Even to us Christians at times,  it seems to be merely a book of history and hard to understand proverb.   Should we settle for this or do we need to be desperate to contact the living God each and every time we come to His word?

On this particular program, we encourage everyone who is listening to pray this prayer “Lord, while I am listening to this broadcast, help me to turn my heart to You all the ways.”

The Bible should always be something beneficial.  It’s the bread of life.  It’s God’s word.  Surely, it should always bring some kind of help to us.  But we all know at times, we come away seemingly with nothing.  Even sometimes we don’t touch God and we only see may be history or events.  And at other times it seems like there may be even contradictions that plague us and bother us, just leave people questioning whether it is even true or not. Is this what Paul the apostle meant in 1 Corinthians 6 when he said “the letter kills but the Spirit gives life”?

Acts (Program #49) – The Propagation in Asia Minor and Europe through the Ministry of Paul’s Company (15)

Much of the book of Acts is devoted to the account of Paul the Apostle, as he journeyed to the uttermost parts of the earth, speaking and testifying of the resurrected Christ. This word was a blessing to many, but a dagger in the heart of some. In Paul, we see a man of God in spirit, intent, and resolute in this one thing: to preach among the people the unsearchable riches of Christ. Stay with us today as we once again look at the New Testament example of a New Testament minister of Christ on the life study of the Bible.

Genesis (Program #115) – The Spiritual Significance of the Blessing Prophesied concerning Judah, Zebulun, and Issachar (2)

Today we are going to continue our extended visit to chapter 49 of Genesis.   This wonderful chapter 49 of Genesis,  where Jacob is delivering all the various blessings to his 12 sons.  Of course, in Hebrews, we realize that this was a beautiful, poetic utterance by Jacob but we’ve been also discovering that it is prophetic as well.  How do we know that these blessings have a prophetic and up-to-date meaning that is applicable to us as New Testament believers?

Genesis (Program #109) – Blessing

In some of our previous studies, we’ve covered the matter of blessing, but mostly in a passing way or in a way of comparison with grace, which is a more inward experience of God.  But today we focus the whole message on blessing.  How does the blessing of the divine revelation that we are going to see today differ from our traditional or religious concept?

Isaiah (Program #46) – The Servant of Jehovah as the Sure Mercies of David…

Isaiah 55 reveals that Jesus, the very Christ of God became mercies to the mighty King David.  We usually think of mercy something to be shown to a poor person, even a destitute person like a beggar.  Why would a great and mighty king like David need mercy?  How about you?  Do you need His mercies? or are you already rich and in need of only His grace and blessing?

1 Peter (Program #7) – Peter’s Well-Speaking Concerning the Triune God

The apostle Peter opens his first epistle with a long and truly marvelous blessing of the Triune God.  This blessing occupies ten of the twelves verses and these verses are full of wonderful, spiritual expressions based not on mere praise to God for His mighty works of creation and even salvation but are full of Peter’s well-speaking of all three persons of the God-head concerning what God has done and will do subjectively in all of His chosen ones.

Colossians (Program #5) – Christ-The Preeminent and All-Inclusive One, The Centrality and Universality Of God

God has often dealt with man through the promises that he has made to man. And these promises begin as early as Genesis chapter 3. But not until Genesis 12 did a promise of God include blessing or enjoyment for man. This promise of blessing to Abraham was altogether to do with the good land of Israel. But the Apostle Paul in the New Testament book of Galatians repeats that promise in the context of “blessing and enjoyment promise by God to us, His New Testament people”. So what does the land, so preeminent in Genesis, so preeminent in the Old Testament, have to do with us in the New Testament?
