Revelation (Program #1) – Foreword

This will be the most enlightening and surprising life study.

This life study will be very different from other studies of Revelation.  Mainly because of a difference in focus.  The focus of this life study will be a Person, the wonderful Lord Jesus Christ.  And it is a focus on Him in relation to God’s economy that brings in the newness and the freshness because this focus is in line with the focus of the Bible and the central thought of God in the Scriptures.  Of course, the prophecies will be considered, but everything will be considered in relation to the preeminence of this Person.  And this Person is the center of the divine administration according to the divine economy.  So we will focus on Christ.  The prophecies, the symbols and revelations, all the events to come, the kingdom everything, must be and will be related to Christ.   If we in our study of Revelation pay attention to matters other than Christ, we are fundamentally defective in our approach.  We must be Christ-centered and understand everything in relation to Him.  This is our burden and this is our intention.

Today we come to one of the most mysterious books in the entire Bible – the book of Hebrews. Many believers shy away from this epistle but given the proper keys to unlock the treasure of this book, it surely is one of the most nourishing and enlightening of all in Scripture.

What will be different in the life-study of Hebrews will be an exploration of the profound concepts, the divine thoughts that are the foundation of the revelation in this book. What will be unique will be a faithful and thorough and comprehensive unveiling of the uniqueness of Christ as unveiled in the epistle to Hebrews. Ezekiel (Program #24) – The River Flowing from the House

An outstanding feature that appears again and again throughout the pages of the Bible both in the Old Testament and the New is a river. The river was prominent in Genesis and the river appears in the books of history and the books of the prophets in the Old Testament. This river is still flowing in the gospels especially in the Gospel of John where the river flows out of the pierced side of the Lord Jesus. And it continues to flow right through the final chapters of Revelation where it is seen proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the New Jerusalem. In all of these mentions the river is a very positive factor, very much related to the matter of the divine eternal life. One of the more striking appearances that this river makes is in Ezekiel 47 where it’s seen flowing out of the house of God. In this chapter it becomes a deep river – too deep and too wide to be passed over. The one that we have no choice but to abandon ourselves to and swim in.

Ezekiel (Program #17) – The Vision of the Holy Building of God

God’s eternal goal is a holy building which is how the book of Ezekiel concludes starting in chapter 40. The three previous sections in Ezekiel are for this final last section starting in chapter 40. That is, the glory of the Lord in chapter 1, the judgment of God from chapters 2 to 32, and, the recovery of the Lord by life from chapters 33 to 39 are all for the holy building of God which is covered in Ezekiel chapters 40 to 48. Ezekiel (Program #5) – Eagle’s Wings, Man’s Hands, and Calf’s Hoofs

Ezekiel, like the books of Daniel which is also in the Old Testament and Revelation in the New Testament, is a book of signs and figures typifying important spiritual realities. It begins with a storm wind and a cloud with a fire out from which is a golden silver glowing called the electrum. And out of these four comes an indelible image – an image of four living creatures joined together to produce one corporate expression. The details of these four living creatures occupy much of Ezekiel chapter 1; and each of the details is worth our examination because each aspect of this mysterious image reveals much about God’s purpose as well as about our genuine experience of Him in the Christian walk and life. Let’s remember from our previous program that in each of these four living creatures itself has four faces – here’s Ezekiel 1:10 “As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and the four of them had the face of a lion on the right side, and the four of them had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four of them had the face of an eagle.”

Ezekiel (Program #1) – Introduction (1)

One book in the Bible that always seem to stir interest is the book of Revelation. This book gives the account of the apostle John receiving the revelation from God. This revelation actually came as John saw vision after vision, prophetically revealing the key elements of God’s eternal plan. But if one is really to understand the book of Revelation, it is equally important to know the parallel Old Testament book, the book of Ezekiel. Ezekiel and Revelation go together in many critical aspects as you’ll see in the coming weeks.

Hebrews (Program #38) – The Working of the Law of Life
