Abraham is the example of justification.

Paul was fully in the view of Genesis as he wrote the epistles to the Romans. In Genesis, the Holy Spirit gives us a crystal clear picture of justification. Apparently, we’re touching doctrinal matters, such as justification, but actually Paul is writing this book based on experience. The proof of this is that he gives us not just merely a doctrinal dissertation related to justification, but he gives us a living model, pattern and example in the person of Abraham.

Abraham was a person who believed God. The God he believed in is the God who gives life to the dead and who calls things not being as being. He surely enjoyed justification in his life, in his experience and not just in a doctrinal way. Romans 4:3 says, “For what does the Scripture say? ‘And Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness.’” We as Christians today, we believe in Jesus Christ. While believing into Him, it is accounted to us as righteousness. Justification means to be approved by God according to His standard of righteousness. Apart from Christ, and believing in this Christ, no man can be justified in the sight of God. Paul in writing about justification brings us to Abraham who believed in this very one who calls things not being as being and who gives life to the dead. That means he believes in the God of resurrection. This became his justification.

<meta itemprop="description" content="Romans (Program #7) - The Example of Justification

In this broadcast we see the wonderful God in whom Abraham believed. He's the God who gives life to the dead and calls things not being as being.
