Hebrews (Program #36) – The New Covenant

Hallelujah for the new covenant! In the new covenant we’re just the happy inheritors. Our need is just to take, receive and enjoy.

Laws are a part of every aspect of life. We often think of laws as requirements that are outwardly placed on us, keeping us under an expectation to carry them out. But the Bible presents another kind of law to us, laws that God installs in us, full of the power of His divine life. These laws, the laws of the new covenant, are our focus today on the life study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #35) – A Heavenly Minister with a More Excellent Ministry

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to have you all to sift you as wheat.  But I have made petition concerning you that your faith would not fail; and you, once you have turned again, establish your brothers.” (Luke 22:31-32)  Why didn’t Peter’s faith fail?  It’s because the Lord was praying for him.

Many portions of Scripture talk about salvation, and most of us as Christians feel that we understand this term well enough.  But do we really know what it is to be “saved to the uttermost,” as spoken of in Hebrews 7?  We will see this higher view of salvation in today’s life-study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #34) – The Indestructible Life

We should really open to the Lord and to the Word, and to this ministry, to learn more, appreciate more, and experience and enjoy more of Christ as our High Priest.  The New Testament book of Hebrews shows us a kingly and majestic view of Christ in His priesthood – offering, ministering, and saving.  These three functions of our heavenly High Priest will open up our heart and uplift our appreciation of God’s full salvation.

Hebrews (Program #33) – A Divine High Priest, Living and Able to Save

A priest forever after the order of Melchisedec means a lot and we will hear in this message today some of the deeper aspects of this meaning.  To most Christians, the priesthood of Christ is something we seldom, if ever, consider.  It sounds a bit lofty and spiritual to our natural ears to get very excited about.  But the view of Christ in Hebrews as our great High Priest is one that will stir our hearts and lift us up.

Hebrews (Program #32) – A Kingly High Priest, Perpetual and Great

To most people, the words soul and spirit are interchangeable, even to many Christians.  But Hebrews 4:12 tells us that not only are they not the same, but the word of God can divide them apart.  To miss this distinction is to miss one of the keys to experiencing Christ.  We will look at the human spirit on today’s life-study of the Bible.

Hebrews (Program #31) – The Heavenly Ministry of the Heavenly Christ

Too many of us as Christians have stopped our progress at the cross but we have not gone on to experience Christ on the throne. Today’s message I believe we’ll get much help how to progress on our Christian life.

We’re going to see Christ today as the Great High Priest ministering in two aspects. I think this portion of Scripture may tend to scare some people off because they just don’t understand what these types and pictures refer to and how they apply to them. The message we’re hearing today so clearly defines both of these aspects – the priesthood according to Aaron and the priesthood according to the order of Melchisedec. We will get a full appreciation of what has been accomplished by Christ as our High Priest.

Hebrews (Program #30) – To Be Brought on to Maturity and Fleeing into the Refuge with the Anchor and the Forerunner

Today we will see how as Christians we can be brought on to maturity and how we can flee into the refuge which God has created for us.

We’ve all experienced the feeling that we must never have been saved – the way we fail and fall away from the Lord and His grace at times. This is a common experience to all who desires to follow the Lord. But when we fall, God’s provision and His desire to restore us is a much different path than the one we paved for ourselves.

Hebrews (Program #29) – The Word of Righteousness and the Word of the Beginning of Christ

If you want to mature in Christ and if you hunger for the solid food of the Word, please pay attention – this message is just for you.

The Word of God has many different titles and scripture and even more functions – it’s called the Word of Grace, the Word of Life, even the Good Word. But in Hebrews, it’s called the Word of Righteousness. This is the solid nourishing word that can bring us on to maturity.

We’re not quite halfway through this life study of Hebrews and it seems that in nearly every turn, we are challenged and even stretched by what is opened up in Hebrews.  Because this book is so profound and deep, every turn it takes really challenges those of us who approaches it with still elementary understanding of God and the things of God. more…

Hebrews (Program #28) – The High Priest According to the Order of Melchisedec and the Cause of Eternal Salvation

Whatever the kind of problem we have, whatever kind of difficulties we face in our marry life, and our business life and all kinds of situation, we can just enjoy Christ as the Melchisedec, the Great High Priest, giving Himself as the One who is bread and wine to be our daily supply.

For centuries in the Old Testament God’s interests and people were served by the priesthood.  But in Hebrews, we see a marvelous succession to that priesthood, no longer do we look at any earthly man to intervene for us to God.  We look to Christ alone as our Great High Priest, a Priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Numbers (Program #32) – A Vital Sketch of the Divine Revelation (2)

Apparently, the Old Testament has nothing to do with the church.  After all, the church didn’t even come into being until the book of Acts.  Actually however, the history of Israel recorded in the Old Testament is a picture of the church and the church life.  If we have this view, this understanding, we will see that the divine revelation in the Old Testament books such as Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers give us a picture and a full type of the church in the mystical union with the all-inclusive Christ.
