Exodus (Program #131) – The Sanctification of Aaron and His Sons to be the Priests (2) Sin Offering and the Way to Feast on Christ

Many items of the Old Testament are later associated with Christ in the New Testament.  Among the most frequently discussed items are the offerings that became part of the service in the tabernacle and later the temple.  What do these Old Testament animal offerings have to do with our Savior Christ and with our own experience of His divine life in us?

We are in the section of the life study of Exodus now that touches the offerings.  The offerings of the Old Testament have long been connected to, or associated with Christ.  The New Testament does make it clear that Christ on the cross was the real fulfillment of many of these offerings, like the sin offering and trespass offering that we will see today.

Exodus (Program #130) – The Sanctification of Aaron and His Sons to be the Priests (1) Sin Offering, Empty Hands

The priests in the Old Testament had to meet three basic requirements to qualify for their lofty service.  First they had to be born of the proper lineage then they needed to be clothed with the priestly garments and finally they had to have their hands full of the offerings.  What’s interesting is that requirements for being a priest today in the New Testament are really the same.  This is mysterious, yet it is too marvelous.

1 Corinthians (Program #8) – Christ, Our Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption

In our human society we typically have a high regard for the wise and the well born among us and conversely we tend to despise even to disregard the poor and the lowly ones. Yet in God salvation there is no room for man to boast in himself. So God in His wisdom renders all our human wisdom mere folly in Christ. Well at the same time He Himself becomes wisdom and strength and status to all those who had been called. Listen to Paul’s writing in 1 Corinthians chapter 1

For consider your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise according to flesh, not many powerful, not many wellborn.  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world that He might shame those who are wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world that He might shame the things that are strong, And the lowborn things of the world and the despised things God has chosen, things which are not, that He might bring to nought the things which are, So that no flesh may boast before God.”

Romans (Program #26) – Transformation in Practicing the Body Life (1)

Our life study of Romans today brings to to chapter 12, a wonderful marvelous chapter in the book of Romans.  The early portions of Romans present us many great spiritual terms; justification, sanctification, glorification to name just a few.  We have seen deeper meanings of these items in the previous programs.  But the presentation that will take place today will begin to show how the process of life that we experience really has a goal related to our practice of life.

The process of life is sanctification and this is actually the process of our being saved in Christ’s life.  He sanctifies us wholly.  This means He adds Himself in His holy nature into our spirit, into our soul, and into our body.  This is the process of life.  more…

Romans (Program #22) – Heirs of Glory (4)

Most Christians know and have quoted Romans 8:28 that God works all things together for good to those who love Him. Today we are going to find out what is that “good” that God is working for in every Christian’s life.

The value of Romans 8 is hard to overestimate in a Christian’s life.  It tells us in a practical way how we can experience the Spirit as the sanctifying Spirit – the Spirit of life in a practical way to make our mind life by setting our mind upon the spirit, to transform us in that life and even to bring that life into our mortal body.  more…

Romans (Program #19) – Heirs of Glory (1)

We have received a spirit of sonship in which we cry “Abba Father”.  It’s so wonder to sweetly cry “Abba Father”.  If you can only call God, “God”, it may indicate you are not a son of God.  But sons can cry “Abba Father”.

We had a wonderful progression thus far in Romans, from the condemned state mankind is in before he’s saved through justification, sanctification and now onto glorification.  What does it mean that justification is for sanctification and justification is for glorification?

Romans (Program #18) – Sanctification in Life

Salvation is a much bigger word than we might have thought.   It solves not only man’s problem of sin but also God’s problem concerning the satisfying of His divine attributes, of righteousness, holiness and glory.

In today’s life study, we will have a brief but very descriptive review of the three major areas of the first half of Romans; that was our justification, sanctification and glorification.  God’s salvation includes all three of these.  But it seems that we focus primarily on justification and then rapture when we will be glorified with Him.  Why is the matter of sanctification has been either overlooked or much misunderstood in the history of the church?
