Ephesians (Program #74) -The Spirit and the Church

One of the major changes that takes place in the life of a Christian is in their mind.  As unbelievers we were as Paul described in Ephesians 4, darkened in our understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance which was in us and because of the hardness of our heart.

Contrast that to the conditions of the believers that follow in Chapter 5, For you were once darkness but are now light in the Lord, walk as children of light for the fruits of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.  How does this transformation in our minds take place?  The answer to this crucial matter is also found in Ephesians.

1 & 2 Samuel (Program #25) – God’s Building Himself in Christ into our Being Through the Metabolic Process of Transformation

Most believers and readers of the Bible recognize that prophecy is an important component of scripture. There are great books of the Bible that have long been recognized as being important from a prophetic perspective. Books like Revelation in the New Testament and Ezekiel and Daniel in the Old Testament. But normally, we don’t think of the history books in the Old Testament as being important for prophecy. And while this may be generally true, there are notable exceptions such as 2 Samuel 7. Listen to 3 verses from this chapter and see if you can find the prophecy that Witness Lee considered one of the highest in all of scripture.

“When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your seed after you, which will come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. It is he who will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he will be My son.”

2 Corinthians (Program #12) – The Ministers of the New Covenant (5)

Let me give you three important spiritual terms from the New Testament.

1. Regeneration
2. Transformation
3. Transfiguration

I selected these because many believers confuse them or perhaps think that they are synonymous or interchangeable. But actually while they all refer to various steps in the process of God’s full salvation, they certainly are not interchangeable, in fact they apply to the three distinct parts of our being. Our spirit, our soul and our body.

1 Corinthians (Program #24) – Transformation for the Building

In the New Testament book of 1 Corinthians we are told specifically and clearly that every believer during the course of their days on the earth is engaged in a building work.

How we build, what we build and what we build with are the crucial questions that we all must explore during our course of days on this earth.

1 Corinthians 3 tells us very clearly, ” ……let each man take heed how he builds upon it. For another foundation no one is able to lay besides that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. But if anyone builds upon the foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, stubble, The work of each will become manifest; for the day will declare it, because it is revealed by fire, and the fire itself will prove each one’s work, of what sort it is.”

Exodus (Program #122) – The Priestly Garments (7) Held to the Lord, Transformation, Onyx Stone

The details that God revealed to Moses regarding the design and furnishings of the tabernacle convey a lot of spiritual insights into our own experience of Christ and the Christian life.  In a similar way, Jehovah was careful and very specific as He revealed all the items that the High Priest had to wear in conducting the priestly service in the tabernacle.  Among these items, six in total, the Ephod is most mysterious and full of marvelous, spiritual meaning.  We return today for another look at the priestly garments.

Romans (Program #66) – Transformation and Conformation by the Grafted Life (2)

In this wonderful message today, we see that our relationship with the Lord is a union of life and this life is a growing life and this life is a grafted life and this life is a shaping life until we are all conformed to the image of Christ, the first born Son of God.

As redeemed believers we treasure the work of Christ on the saving cross to satisfy God’s demands on our behalf. But do we equally treasure the life union aspect of our salvation, we will look at our organic relationship with God on today’s life study.

Today’s message did highlight many of the types and pictures that had come up in our study of Romans regarding the Christian life and Witness Lee does use this word “organic” to describe our union with Christ. How did such a word has a spiritual application?

Romans (Program #30) – Transformation in Receiving the Believers

If we receive the believers, according to the Word, we will be those who are absolutely beside ourselves with the joy of the Holy Spirit. God’s blessing is commanded upon those who receive the believers in such a way.

One of the most intimate and revealing passages of the New Testament is found in the final chapters of Romans. The apostle Paul opened his heart revealing the real practice of the Body life.

Romans (Program #29) – Transformation in Receiving the Believers (1)

Our eternal salvation is by faith through faith.  Once we have been born of God, we can never be unborn and lose our status as regenerated ones.  But there is a matter of reward and/or discipline.

The book of Romans has been called the fifth gospel or the gospel of God.  At its consummation, it beautifully depicts the tender and intimate church life that satisfy both God and man.

The book of Romans as we have been seeing, is divided into 5 basic sections of justification, sanctification, glorification plus selection and then one other.  If we look just casually, it may not seen to fit that this final section concludes with several non doctrinal chapters dealing with the church life.

Romans (Program #28) – Transformation in Practicing the Body Life and in Subjection, Love and Warfare

In all of our experiences we need to have the real expression of the life of Christ in all that we do; in our behavior, in our habits, in our ways, we like to be living out Christ.

The emphasis that Paul places on the gifts both in Romans and also in Corinthians.  He surely acknowledges the so call the gifts of the Spirit but it seems that his emphasis is on the gifts that help us in the growth of life.  Witness Lee picked up the concept and the revelation that came through our brother Paul.  Paul was very much on the gifts that have to do with the growth in life.  Regarding the gifts of the Spirit, this is one area that has been very much misunderstood by a lot of Christians. more…

Romans (Program #26) – Transformation in Practicing the Body Life (1)

Our life study of Romans today brings to to chapter 12, a wonderful marvelous chapter in the book of Romans.  The early portions of Romans present us many great spiritual terms; justification, sanctification, glorification to name just a few.  We have seen deeper meanings of these items in the previous programs.  But the presentation that will take place today will begin to show how the process of life that we experience really has a goal related to our practice of life.

The process of life is sanctification and this is actually the process of our being saved in Christ’s life.  He sanctifies us wholly.  This means He adds Himself in His holy nature into our spirit, into our soul, and into our body.  This is the process of life.  more…
