Deuteronomy (Program #12) -The Rehearsal of the Law (5)

Many people take great solace and comfort in the fact that we live in the land that allows us absolute freedom and how and where to worship God. Surely this is a cherish and value freedom that we thank God for. But how much freedom does the Bible give to the people of God in choosing where and how to worship?

In the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy we see that Moses had a lot to say on this issue. Deuteronomy 12:13 says “Be careful that you do not offer up your burnt offerings in every place that you see; But in the place which Jehovah will choose, there you shall offer up your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I am commanding you.”  The place that Jehovah will choose is the focus of this chapter in Deuteronomy.  An important and interesting fellowship today and one we all will come to realize which is very, very much in God’s heart.

Galatians (Program #26) – Getting Rid of the Leaven

Galatians 5:1 tells us that it was for freedom that Christ has set us free. Yet later, we see how this freedom can actually turn out to be a stumbling to both ourselves and others around us. How to safeguard the freedom we have received in Christ is our focus on today’s life study of the Bible.

Galatians 5 brings us to the daily walk of God’s children. And, it’s quite good to see that in chapter 5 verse 4, Paul’s letting them know, don’t be taken away from Christ; You should not be brought to nothing from Christ; and you should not fall away from grace. In our daily walk, God has jealously betrothed us to Himself in Christ. And, we should not be brought to nothing from Christ. Neither, should we fall from grace.

Romans (Program #35) – Being Freed from Sin, the Law and the Flesh

Our destiny is not merely to go from hell to heaven.  Our destiny is God’s heart desire which is to make us sinners into sons of God, to be constituted the Body of Christ for His glorious expression in this universe.

Many of us know what it is to struggle against sin and the flesh.  And many also know the struggle of never living up to the standard that we or others set for us.  All three requires the freeing of the spirit recorded in Romans chapter 8.  This is our focus of the life-study of the Bible today.

Once again today we look at the tremendous revelation that God is busy making sinners into sons.  Sometimes you hear the word “adopted” inserted into this portion regarding our being the sons of God.   To be a son of God, you need the life of God. Romans (Program #17) – The Freedom of the Spirit in Our spirit (3)

What’s so marvelous is Romans 8 shows us that Christ as the Spirit of life comes into us and He dispenses Himself as life into our whole being!

What we see in Romans and what we see from this wonderful life study is that Romans shows us the complete salvation of God.  A key verse in the book of Romans is Romans 5:10 which tells us that on the one hand, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son but this verse goes on to say that there’s much more to the Christian life. This much more is that we are saved in His life. This verse shows us the complete salvation of God.  On the one hand, we’re redeemed objectively but then the Lord goes on after we’re redeemed to save us in His life.  That means He dispenses Himself as life into our entire being to make us men of life for the building up of the Body of Christ. This is the complete salvation of God in Romans and this is what this wonderful life study unveils to us. more…

It’s no accident that Romans 8 follows Romans 7, both in the sequence of the Bible and more significantly in our experience. When you look at Romans 7, you say “Oh what a mess” because it just ends with a wretched man – “Wretched man! Freedom is something that everyone is seeking today. But what is real freedom? The apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 6:12 “all things are lawful to me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful to me, but I would not be brought under the power of anything.”  To not be brought under the power of anything this is the real freedom. That is what we are going to talk about in the life study of the Bible, we are on the living of the Jubilee.
