Luke (Program #52) – The Man-Savior’s Highest Standard of Morality Constituting His Qualification and the Basic Factor for His Dynamic Salvation (1)

You wake up in the morning full of love toward your wife. But during the day, little things began to irritate, and her words cut, and by the evening you both ready for marriage consoling. Sound silly or sound familiar? The problem is our love is frail, damaged and weak. 1 John says “God is love”.  Would His love ever be so fickle or so easily given up? Of course not. But love is just one example of the difference between God’s life and our natural human life. But the hope of salvation is not just that God has forgiven us of our short comings and He wants to take us to heaven.  But the full salvation that He promises is that our live would be filled with His life, so that His love, and His righteousness and all His attributes can fill us and be expressed through us.

Luke (Program #14) – The Ministry of the Man-Savior in Galilee (5)

Human history has witnessed many great moral and ethical teachers, Plato, Socrates, Confucius just to name a few. The Bible also contains wonderful teachings of morality and ethical behavior but no one say the Lord Jesus Christ Himself ever claimed as He did in John 6, “that the word that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” We all need to ask ourselves this fundamental questions, “Is God’s word to us just a book of ethical and moral teachings or is it a book that brings us to spirit and life?”

2 Peter (Program #4) – The Divine Provision (4)

Most of the time Christians are satisfied if their behavior before the unbelieving world reflects a proper ethical conduct and high moral. In fact if we spend our entire day living in such a way surely at the end of our day we will be peaceful and probably feel quite good about ourselves and our testimony.

But the Bible declares what God is seeking from His people is not mere ethics and morality but a life that expresses Godliness, which means a life that expresses God Himself. This is much different, much higher than mere morality.  Listen again to 2 Peter 1:3 “Seeing that His divine power has granted to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the full knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and virtue.“
