We’ve gone through the beginning chapters of Leviticus and the details of the main offerings: burnt offering, meal offering, sin offering, trespass offering and the peace offering. The next few programs we want to cover the laws that are associated with these five offerings. During the last few months we have been given a memorable and wonderfully clear picture of “A Life Fully According To and For God’s New Testament Economy” as it is portrayed through the gospel of Mark.

This life embodied in our precious Lord Jesus in the gospels is developed through out the entire New Testament, ultimately a peak is reached in the book of Revelation, as we see the final consummation of God’s economy in the New Jerusalem. That final consummation is no longer just a picture of God or Christ alone, but we also as His redeemed and regenerated people are included. What a transformation from our pitiful fallen condition at the time we first received His saving grace to the glorious outcome that awaits all of us to participate in for eternity.

Revelation (Program #61) – The New Jerusalem (3)

Revelation, the final book of the Bible, opens many things to us in its 22 chapters. But the key to unlocking these revelations is to realize that primarily, this is a book of signs and symbols. The final sign, that of a city called New Jerusalem reveals God’s ultimate intention and our ultimate destiny. To see this, however, requires not just our natural understanding. Rev 21:10 says, “And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.” If we can be in spirit as John was, and in a sense, be carried away to a high mountain by the Lord’s mercy, we can see this city as well.
