Genesis (Program #91) – A Bird’s-Eye View of God’s Building in the Scriptures

We have a very interesting life study today, in a sense it is inserted into our life study of Genesis because it deals with much more than just Genesis.  It’s really going to be an overview of the entire divine revelation.   Why is this an appropriate point for such an overview?

This is a point at which Jacob is brought back again to Bethel.  We talked about Bethel and saw how he first encounter Bethel at that he put the stone down as a pillow and had a dream concerning the heavens open and the angels of God ascending and descending, then he woke up and said this is Bethel, the House of God.  Brother Lee calls that a major turning point in Genesis and in fact it is a major turning point in the whole Bible, because it brings us to God’s heart desire, that is Bethel, to have a house where He, Himself can dwell with mankind.

Revelation (Program #47) – The First Fruit

From Revelation chapters 12 and 13, we’ve seen several awesome things; the bright, universal woman, the man-child, the great red dragon, Antichrist, and the false prophet. Some of these are positive, and of course some are negative. Now we come to chapter 14. What we see are 144 000 virgins standing with Christ on Mount Zion as His first fruits.

Genesis (Program #90) – After Breaking

Today we look at Jacob on Genesis 33.   This message today concerning Jacob relies on understanding a little bit of his history.  What has Jacob gone through since the heavenly dream that he received in chapter 28?

Well, he arrived at uncle Laban’s house, he fell in love with Rachel, agreed to serve 7 years.   He put in the time.  He was cheated in the sense that he was given the older sister Leah as wife and had to labor another 7 years for Rachel.  He produces a number of children.  He acquired a number of flocks.  He’s quite blessed by God.  On one hand, Jacob was dealt with by Laban who cheated him and manipulated him.  On the other hand, Jacob being clever did his best to out-wit Laban.  He had a clever scheme of getting the best animals for himself.  But actually it was God’s sovereignty that blessed and enriched Jacob..

Genesis (Program #88) – Being Dealt With (9)

We are very much absorbed these days in these life studies and experiences of Jacob.

As a background of Jacob’s life up to this point, you can look from two point of views.  One is what God was doing with Jacob and the other view is what Jacob was doing with God’s promises.   In the first place God chose Jacob and God gave him some promises even work out a lot of ways to deal with him and took him through a lot of experiences.  From God’s point of view, He was really working on Jacob to bring him to full transformed man.  These experiences we’ve had so far are part of the dealings that God had with Jacob.  But from Jacob’s side, when you look at it from his point of view, Jacob is always working things out according to his own view, according to his own standing…

Revelation (Program #44) -The Beast Out of the Sea (4)

In the Old Testament book of Daniel in chapter two, King Nebuchadnezzar has a great dream, a vision. Daniel who has been imprisoned is the only one able to interpret this dream. In this dream, there was a great image representing all the kingdoms of the earth. And a great stone ultimately smashes the image. And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth, the Bible says.  Included in the image in Daniel two are all the worldly powers consummating with the Antichrist and his soon-to-be kingdom. The stone is Christ, crushing and replacing the worldly kingdoms with the kingdom of God. This is the view from Daniel chapter two.
