From time to time during this lengthy life study of Exodus we like to go back and pick up a highlight program from one of our earlier life studies.  Today we go back to the book of Isaiah and look at a wonderful verse that fits very well in this current study of Exodus regarding the unveiling of God in His Trinity. All true believers love God’s word and love the genuine and undeniable words of prophecy.    It seems that most people today may favor prophecy concerning Christ second coming.  But much of the richest prophecies in Scripture concerns His first coming.  Like these famous words of Isaiah written some 700 years before Christ’s birth…

Luke (Program #45) – The Man-Savior’s Presentation of Himself to Death for Redemption (5)

At the time the Lord Jesus was on the earth, all those around Him, both His followers and those opposing Him wanted Him to tell them about the end time. When is the kingdom coming? What about the rapture? When would the Lord’s second coming be? These questions continue to interest mankind, both believers and the unbelievers share a certain curiosity, Yet the Lord Jesus both then and now is not so much interested in satisfying our curiosity as He is in awaking us up from our spiritual sleep that we would be wise and beseeching Him that we would not be those who are caught unaware or worst, unprepared at His coming.

Luke (Program #44) – The Man-Savior’s Presentation of Himself to Death for Redemption (4)

One item that seems to interest all believers is the rapture of the Christians at the time of the Lord second coming. The prevailing thought among believers today is that the rapture rescues all the saved ones so that they do not have to pass through the suffering associated with the great tribulation.  But the Bible if you read it carefully just does not support such a view. Because it depicts aspect of the rapture taking place at different times. In history these passages had led to confusions, and strong disputing among the brothers and sisters in the Lord. We will touch some of this confusing matters today.  If the Lord is merciful, we would be brought into a clearer view of this very crucial matter.

Zechariah (Program #14) – The Prophecies of Encouragement (5)

Any careful consideration of the history of God’s people, Israel, reveals that for much of that history, Israel has suffered. Paul, even spoke in Romans, of Israel’s heart being hardened until the age of the Gentiles will be fulfilled. We know that, that fulfillment is complete at the Lord’s second coming, so what about Israel after that time? Well the prophet Zechariah is full of encouraging prophecies concerning the eventual household salvation of Israel at the Lord’s return especially in chapter 12. Listen to Zechariah in one of the sweetest verses in all of Scripture: “And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of supplications; and they will look upon Me, whom they pierced; and they will wail over Him with wailing as for an only son and cry bitterly over Him with bitter crying as for a firstborn son.”

Hebrews (Program #42) – The Two Manifestations of Christ

As Christians, of course we all believe that Christ came but we also believe that He is coming again. A major objective in His first coming is to put away sin. But what will be His objective in His second coming or manifestation? We will explore both of His manifestations on today’s life study of the Bible.

This message today is called the “The Two Manifestations of Christ”. This term “manifestations” may not be as familiar to some as the term or phrase the “second coming of Christ”. Do these mean the same thing and where do we find this in the book of Hebrews?

1 Thessalonians (Program #13) – The Hope of the Christian Life

In the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians he vividly describes how desperate mankind is apart from God. Listen to Chapter 2:12
“That you were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.”

But in his letter to the new believers in Thessalonica he repeatedly points them to the great hope of all the believers and that is the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the promise of our rapture at the end of the age.

Rapture is a big topic in the New Testament but in the few selected verses in 1 Thessalonians we have a marvelous overview that will fill all believers with the genuine hope. Promised in God’s word and secured in the shed blood of Christ. He is coming again and all those who believe will join Him at that coming.

“But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are sleeping, that you would not grieve even as also the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and arose, so also those who have fallen asleep through Jesus, God will bring with Him. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are living, who are left remaining unto the coming of the Lord, shall by no means precede those who have fallen asleep; Because the Lord Himself, with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are living, who are left remaining, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will be always with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
