Exodus (Program #162) – The Sabbath in Relation to the Building Work of the Tabernacle – Sabbath, Refreshment

After a very long section dealing with the blueprint for the tabernacle and all of the aspects of priestly service the Lord reintroduces the matter of the Sabbath rest for His people.  It’s an interesting insertion in the divine record and surely this repeat of the Sabbath rest is worth examining as to how it applies to us in our own walk with the Lord and our service to Him.

Exodus (Program #159) – The Incense—Oiled and Salted; the Ingredients

We are going to complete, in a sense a two-part series dealing with the incense that was burnt in the golden incense altar in the tabernacle.  Yesterday, we had a program that brought out this matter of the divine traffic that is pictured by looking at these two things that are brought up at the end of chapter 30; the holy anointing oil, we spent a number of programs on this topic and then yesterday and today we are now touching the recipe for incense that was given almost in the same breath.  This was a marvelous point, the divine traffic.  We touched many times earlier but particularly in Genesis as we first look at Jacob’s ladder.  Of course, in the life study of John it comes up again as well.  There seems to be a development of what was initially presented in Genesis to some degree.

One of the truly great promises of Christian life is found in 1 John chapter 2, there it says o”if that which you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father”.  Verse 25 says “And this is the promise which He Himself promised us, the eternal life.”  The condition of this promise is that we need to let that which we have heard from the beginning abide in us.  No genuine lover of the Lord Jesus would want to miss promise.   But what is it that we need to let abide in us that will bring us into this marvelous reality?

What is the single greatest teaching in the Bible?  Well that may be an impossible question to answer.  But as God’s people who love His word It is worth contemplating.  One matter that at least deserve to be considered is the revelation in Scripture that our God, the God of the Bible both Old and New Testaments is Triune; one yet three, an indescribable mystery. Yet what can be grasped by all His children is that the marvelous three-one God is Triune for man to experience Him, even live by Him.

Exodus (Program #153) – The Compound Ointment—The Compound Spirit (2) Titles of the Spirit

The Spirit, of course is the third of the Godhead.  It is also a major topic of the Bible.  But it is known or referred to by many different titles; the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jehovah, and in the New Testament, the Spirit of Jesus, the Spirit of Reality and of course the Holy Spirit.  So the question arises, why so many titles for the one Spirit?  Surely God was not being careless neither was He trying to confuse us.  But rather these titles convey significant revelation for us to be those who genuinely walk in and experience the Spirit in our daily lives.
