Numbers (Program #27) – Fighting (6)

After 40 years of journeying through the wilderness of Sinai, the children of Israel had finally arrived at the gate of the good land and the end of their long and difficult journey.  By now they had experienced a wide range of things from God’s mercy, many of His miracles and the number of wars fighting against a variety of enemies and a great number of their own failures and setbacks as well.  But through it all, God remained faithful to His promise to bring them into the land that He had given to their father Abraham.  He was also faithful to remind them of His need and He would never let them forget the necessity of offering sacrifices there were satisfying to Him.  We will review some of these marvelous point on today’s program and we will see some new things facing God’s people.

Leviticus (Program #11) – The Practical Experience and Enjoyment of Christ as the Offerings

The Old Testament established a definite principle that sinful and fallen man must have an offering before coming into God’s presence.  In Leviticus and other Old Testament books sacrifices of animals and grain were prescribed by God.  But what about now?  Has God’s principle been abandoned?  Is it acceptable to approach Him empty-handed?  Or do His people still need an acceptable offering to come into God’s presence?

Exodus (Program #82) – The Vision of the Tabernacle and Its Furniture and Concerning the Materials and the Pattern (2)

The Old Testament book of Exodus records the Exodus or exit of God’s people out of the bondage and slavery of Egypt. This is a marvelous type of our own salvation from the tyranny of sin and the world. Yet the actual Exodus occupies less than half of the chapter in the book of Exodus. So what is the focus of the rest of the book?
Stay with us today, we will discover far more than just our salvation from our sins and the world.

God’s revelation to Moses concerning the building of the tabernacle. This may be a fairly unfamiliar topic to many people. A brief word just what the tabernacle was in the Old Testament.

Actually was the goal of Exodus. This tabernacle was a material building, build out of specially designated materials that God reveal to Moses what to use and how to use it and detail. When you get the picture of the tabernacle as a whole. There is an outer court with a wall around it, not a board wall, nor a stone wall but a cloth wall goes all around the outer court. And at the entrance, that is from the wilderness where the Israelite lived coming into the tabernacle there is an entrance there with a curtain. more…

Exodus (Program #79) – The Blood of the Covenant (2).

The Old Testament book of Exodus speaks of a covenant between God and man and this covenant was ratified by blood. In the New Testament the Lord Jesus speaks of a New covenant in Luke 22 and once again the covenant is connected to the shedding of blood. And finally in Hebrews the writer speaks of an eternal covenant enacted and ratified by the offering of eternal blood. What is the relationship between these covenants and the blood that enacts and ratifies us?

It has been an amazing journey to see so many places and to consider them and respond to them in light of the very things we’ve been ministering in this life study of the scripture. This present message on the blood of the covenant I find particularly apt in recent days a number of us have been fellowshipping again and again about what we may call a dispensational change brought about by the ministry of the Lord Jesus. And by dispensational change we mean the ending, the terminating of the old covenant and the introducing of the new covenant through the redeeming death of Christ.  more…

1 Peter (Program #3) – The Full Salvation of the Triune God and Its Issues (1)

In the books of 1 & 2 Peter often a single word can add much richness and meaning to what is being said.  For example, Peter begins his first epistle by pointing  us to the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus.  This word sprinkling was surely used to remind the Hebrew believers that he was writing to of how the sprinkling of the blood of goats and sheep that they were familiar with in the Old Testament Jewish religion was simply or merely a type, a foreshadowing of the real eternal offering of the blood of Christ.  His was the sprinkling that accomplished far more than the temporary atonement of the sacrifices in the Old Testament.  For this sprinkling guarantees our full possession of all the benefits and blessings of the entire new covenant from now and for eternity.

Hebrews (Program #43) – Christ’s Sacrifices Replacing and Terminating Those of the Old Covenant

Today in chapter 10 of Hebrews we will see the good news that our sins and iniquities are completely taken away. And, we will see the better news that we can join in with God for the fulfillment of His desire on earth today.

Twice in the book of Hebrews we have God’s new covenant presented. In this new covenant we have Christ to offer to God for our sins; but not only so, we also have the promise of the divine life being imparted into our being. Once again we will enjoy this new covenant on today’s life study of the Bible.
