John (Program #12) – Life’s Principle

One day your human life will run out, and the enjoyment will be over.

Chapter one gives us an introduction to the whole book. And, we have seen the introduction starts from eternity past and ends with eternity future. And in between, as we have seen, there is the bridge of time on which 5 main events transpire to accomplish God’s eternal purpose. We have seen this clearly. Now by the way, I must point out to you that John tells us that the Lord Jesus did lots of things. Thousands of things. But out of the thousand cases, John, the writer, only selected not more than 12 events. From chapter three through chapter eleven, it is so clear that there are 9 cases. From Nicodemus to the resurrection of Lazarus. Altogether 9 cases, plus 1 in chapter two. The changing of water into wine…

Mark (Program #44) – The Resurrection and Ascension of the Slave-Savior and His Universal Spreading of the Gospel Through His Disciples

Chapter 16, the final chapter of Mark’s gospel presents three tremendous events in the ministry of Jesus Christ.  First it reveals His resurrection then His ascension for His exaltation and finally the spreading of His gospel to all the creation. All of these matters are important to genuine believers as they relate to the truth of the divine revelation. But they also should be very real aspects of our experience of the marvelous salvation that we have received. But that leads us to a very important question, How can we experience Christ in the reality of His resurrection and how can we experience the exalted and ascended Christ?  Well, this chapter gives us some very helpful signs from some of the Lord’s followers who were living in the reality of Christ in His crucifixion and therefore we are also able to experience Him in His resurrection.

Mark (Program #34) – The Preparation of the Slave-Savior for His Redemptive Service (8)

Mark chapter 13, is a chapter that’s difficult to understand. In this chapter the Lord Jesus was speaking to His disciples by way of prophecies concerning events that must occur before the ushering in of the kingdom age.

Many people studied this chapter focusing on these prophecies while missing the real significance of His speaking.  For in this chapter He is not just predicting the future events in order to entice us to follow the prophecies but rather He was preparing the disciples as well as all those who would follow the disciples to become His believers in future generations. This preparation was with a definite goal and purpose. Not merely to strengthen our faith in His word by accurately predicting future events. No.  Much more than that.; His speaking in this portion of scripture is to prepare all His seeking ones for the producing and bringing forth of the New Man.

Mark (Program #15) – The Move of the Slave-Savior’s Gospel Service (2) & (3)

Mark chapter 6 presents us with 4 seemingly unrelated cases. To our shallow understanding these 4 cases seems to be merely 4 separate stories of events that took place during the Lord’s earthly ministry. However if we receive even a little enlightenment we can see that once again the sequence in the divine record of how these events are unfolded is really marvelous.  And that when taken together these 4 cases really are layers of meaning and significance.

So here are 4 cases, 2 negative and 2 positive. That individually show us the rejection, hatred and justice even martyrdom that typifies the world’s response to the gospel. But collectively they fill us with encouragement, conviction and even a renewed determination to go forth to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom to the whole inhabited earth.

Jeremiah (Program #24) – Separation of the Church, God’s New Testament Elect from the World in All its Aspects

The Bible, especially the Old Testament is often studies merely in the way of history, looking at names, dates and places.  And though there are some values in this manner of study, for us as believers the greater need is to see the Bible open up as a book of life.  For this, it is seeing the spiritual significance of events that yields the greatest benefit.  And It is in this light that our study of Jeremiah has brought us to consider the final chapters where God’s wrath even His vengeance is poured out on one nation on earth that has been the most offensive to Him and rendered the most damage upon His chose people.  God’s judgment upon Babylon and its significance for God’s people today is our topic.

1 John (Program #22) – The Anointing and the Antichrists

In this age when so many people are talking about events related to the end times as prophesied in the Bible. You hear a lot of talk and speculation concerning this infamous personality that will play a major part in those events.

Christians and even interested believers commonly used the name Antichrist to identify this one. Actually though this term is Biblical it can only be found in two books out of the sixty-six in the Bible. And those two are 1 and 2 John. But it’s interesting to examine how John uses this title. It may surprise you to hear that there had been many Antichrists that had already been come and gone. Yes, there is one coming whom the Bible speaks of at the end times. But for our need today we should be very clear about the real meaning of the term Antichrist.

2 Thessalonians (Program #7) -A Concluding Word

In both of his epistles to the new believers in the Church in Thessalonica, Paul the apostle speaks to them regarding the Lord’s second coming and the rapture of the Church. Then near the end of the second book, he warns these new believers to avoid associating with those who walk disorderly. What is this disorderly walk that Paul was talking about? And what does it has to do with his fellowship on the events associated with the Lord’s return?

2 Thessalonians (Program #4) – A Further Word of Encouragement

According to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 there are three definite things that need to take place prior to the Lord’s second coming and the rapture of the church.

First, the apostasy of God’s people must occur. Then the son of perdition, the man of lawlessness, the one we call anti-Christ must raise up and be revealed. And finally, the temple in the Holy City, Jerusalem must be rebuild, because at the certain point before the visible return of Christ, this anti-Christ sits himself in the temple and exalt himself above all that is called God.

There is no single passage in the Bible gives us all the details and specific timing of the end time events. For those we need to go to many different passages in the Bible. One of the most important of which is found in Daniel chapter 9 in the Old Testament and what is known as the 70 weeks of Daniel.

Daniel 9:24 says:”Seventy weeks are apportioned for your people and for your holy city, to close the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make propitiation for iniquity, and to bring in the righteousness of the ages, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.”  Well, the 70 weeks unfold in the next few verses and we will do our best to touch them today in a brief way.
